Diagnostic assessments for Maths and English

Sep 22, 2026 | Exams & Revision, News

How many times have you read a report from your school, full of sound and fury, but signifying nothing? How wonderful that my child is ‘meeting expectations’ but what are these mysterious expectations? Are they the same for every child? Do you have a specific expectation for my child? Is your expectation and my expectation for my child the same?

Frankly, these sorts of reports leave more questions than answers.

We’re here to help.

At the beginning of this academic year Clarendon is offering diagnostic assessments for your child that will tell you exactly:

  • Whether your child is tracking for a certain grade or school.
  • Which topics and sub topics your child is struggling with.
  • Whether there are holes in the syllabus from previous years.

These assessments can be done in person and online. They take 3 one hour sessions per subject. The diagnostic assessment includes a detailed write up. The cost is £400 + VAT for in person and £300 + VAT for online.

We would recommend the following:

  • Years 11 and 10 – Check year 1 and foundations of GCSE Maths and English
  • Years 9, 8 and 7 – Check the foundational elements to the GCSE course for Maths.
  • Years 6, 5 and 4 – Check your child is on track for their target school for 11+
  • Years 2 and 1 – Check your child is on track for 7+ (or 8+) target schools.

Please get in touch if this is of interested or spread the word to those who might be interested.
