Our Story
Clarendon Tutors was set up in 2015 by Henry Serocold and Orlando Simon, two schoolfriends from their days at Eton College who share a passion for education.
Henry’s career has taken him from financial services into the education sector. He has worked at Eaton House the Manor as well as John Keble Church of England School. This experience of both private and state schools has proved invaluable in shaping Clarendon’s approach to the education of children from all backgrounds.
Orlando has enjoyed over a decade of working for London’s most well known tutoring agencies, whilst pursuing a career in theatre production.
With well over 10,000 hours of tutoring experience and exposure to the practices of these other agencies, Orlando, along with Henry, was very quickly able to develop a long sighted, child focused ethos for Clarendon.
Our Approach
Clarendon Tutors understands that the most important person in the process is your child and we tailor our approach based on the needs and ambitions of each student. We like to sit down with your child to properly assess their strengths, weaknesses and learning preferences, as well as read school reports, meet with teachers where appropriate and talk with the people who know your children best: you.
Once we have a good impression of your child’s needs, we can match them with a tutor. A good tutor can offer so much to a child – educational support, organisational skills, mentoring, motivation, inspiration – and so we strive to find just the right match. If your child and our tutor can develop a strong relationship, then your child will benefit so much more. After our assessments we produce a schedule that will help your tutor guide your child towards their goals.
We constantly liaise with our tutors to monitor the progress being made, and, if needs be, modify the schedule. We also track school reports and attend parent teacher meetings, where appropriate. Parents will also receive detailed reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
