Welcome to Clarendon Tutors

May 1, 2021 | News

I started tutoring in 2010, and, if I’m being brutally honest, I don’t think I was the best tutor to begin with. I displayed a couple of traits that we see in some candidates who don’t make it through our rigorous recruitment: I was too focused on my other projects and saw tutoring simply as a way of supplementing my paltry income. In 2012 and 2013, I started working for two families, which completely transformed my approach to tutoring, and my understanding of how rewarding and influential the role could be. These families welcomed me into their lives, and the care and attention they had for the children’s education was infectious. This has certainly formed Clarendon’s approach today; we want to treat all our clients like family.

The parents of these families also taught me how preoccupying being a parent is. I know; this is obvious to me now, but as a callow youth I don’t think I had truly appreciated it. I can remember countless conversations on all aspects of child raising, and this is what I want the focus of this blog to be. We will cover any topic that we can think of that might interest, worry or inspire our parents: entrance exams, ADHD, revision tips, mobile phone addiction, university applications and more. We’ll cover it all here. If there’s anything you’d like us to cover, then please get in touch and let us know. Otherwise, please enjoy and let us know your thoughts.
