Who We Are
Founded in 2015 by education professionals Henry Serocold and Orlando Simon, Clarendon Tutors is one of London’s best tutoring agencies and educational consultancies. In the last ten years we’ve been featured in the Times, the Telegraph, Tatler, the Good Schools Guide, and more; we’ve been honoured at the last two National Tutoring Awards; and we’re now working in five continents.
With a distinguished cadre of over 400 educators, Clarendon Tutors offers face-toface tuition across a broad spectrum of interests. Our aim is to ignite curiosity and nurture a shared passion for learning. Our tutors create connection as they explore your academic passions in language, history, literature, economics, politics, art, and more.

A Personalized Experience:
- Our skilled young tutors will come to your residence/home (in London) to engage in a joint conversation on the subjects you are passionate about. Ever wanted to learn Pasticceria level Italian or Romantic Literature?
- Sessions are tailored to suit you, lasting 60 minutes, and scheduled at your convenience. We offer a trial session for free.
- Pricing is set at £80 (exc.VAT) for 1-2-1 sessions, and £120 (exc.VAT) for group sessions, for up to 6 participants, which amounts to just £20 per person.

Example Italian-specific tutor: I’m a British-Italian psychotherapy student at the Tavistock & Portman NHS foundation, with a background in arts and teaching. I’ve taught Italian, incorporating cultural elements like films, music, politics, poetry and recipes. Let’s dive into the Italian Renaissance or Dante’s works. For Ancient Greece aficionados, we can delve into its theatre, iconic plays, and cultural insights.

Example tutor: I’m passionate about storytelling across mediums – from novels to cinema. I write, act, and teach Psychology and philosophy. Example tutor: I’m a Cambridge History graduate. My passions range from medieval history—focusing on the Crusades, Byzantine Empire, and British medieval politics—to more contemporary topics like the Soviet Union’s collapse, Eastern European history, and late 19th to 20th-century American history. I’m eager to delve into any niche interest you’d like to explore together!
Politics/Journalism
The Middle East, Russia/Ukraine, the refugee crisis.
Example tutor: I am a Broadcast Journalism Master’s student. Passionate about technology’s role in feminism and refugee rights, my experiences include volunteering at refugee hostels, working with Amnesty International, and studying Politics and International Relations. Recently, I researched UK politics at Tortoise Media, a ‘slow news’ outlet. I’m eager to discuss technology, humanitarianism, geopolitics, or UK politics.
Theatre/Music
Learn to act, play an instrument or analyse theatre.
Example tutor: I studied English at Oxford and am now pursuing an Masters in Creative Writing at Cambridge. I’ve won the Squint Playwriting Award, associated with the Young Vic, and directed at prominent festivals. I specialize in teaching literature, theatre, and film, spanning from metaphysical poetry to modern-day literature. I offer workshops in fiction, poetry, playwriting, and facilitate drama classes.
Art
Develop skills painting or analysing modern or fine art.
Example tutor: I am currently doing my PGCE in Primary Education, to allow me to continue my passion for creativity. Art can ignite conversations, memories, and emotions, regardless of skill level. Simple creations can evolve into masterpieces, reflecting one’s life and essence. This approach offers a joyful, engaging, and reflective way to connect and be creative.

Example tutor: I’m a medical student with a lifelong passion for science, understanding its influence on our daily lives and decisions. We could explore anything from microscopic cell biology to how human metabolism and physiology works. Ever wanted to understand how sports science can enhance performance and the link between legal and illegal enhancement? Or what was the scientific theory behind Covid?
Maths/Economics

Example tutor: From Imperial College London, I bring a multicultural background, having lived in France, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. I am eager to share insights on technology fundamentals, delve into algebra, or discuss recent events in geopolitics and business, highlighting the role of maths in shaping them. Maths does not need to be scary or boring, it forms the basis of our existence.
Psychology
Why do we act the way we do? Can we change?
Example tutor: postgraduate in Psychological Sciences from UCL and Oxford. I’m passionate about Cognitive Science, exploring attention, social relationships, and the brain’s predictive nature. If you’re curious about how our brain forms our experiences and emotions, or how we can use Freud’s lessons to analyse our own dreams and interactions with friends and family, I’m here to guide.
